Beacon is operated by Beacon Learning ("we", "us"). Beacon Learning is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed. Contact us at support@beaconlearning.ai.

• Account data — your email address, display name and login credentials, used to create and secure your account (legal basis: performance of our contract with you).
• Learning data — videos you watch, watch time, streaks, manual time entries and favorites, used to provide progress tracking and personalize your experience (legal basis: contract performance).
• Usage and device data — pages visited, play events, an anonymous visitor identifier, IP address and device/browser information, used for security, fraud prevention, analytics and improving the product (legal basis: legitimate interests).
• Support messages — if you contact us, we keep the conversation to help you (legal basis: legitimate interests).

Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are collected and processed directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record — we never see or store your full card details.

• Service providers — hosting, database and analytics providers that process data on our behalf under contract.
• Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for selling subscriptions, payment processing, tax compliance and invoicing.
• Professional advisers — lawyers and accountants, where needed.
• Authorities — where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

We are based in the United States, and some of our service providers process data in the US and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; we respond to requests within one month. To exercise any right, email support@beaconlearning.ai.

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can see personal data.

Beacon uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and stores an anonymous visitor identifier to measure how videos are used. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings, though sign-in will stop working without the essential ones.
